"The Madman of Mars," an incomplete short story of about 10,000 words, was written no later than 1928 when Ackerman was about eleven years old. Part of it is published here serially as part of the 1942 and 1943 FAPA mailings. Regrettably, part three (part of the December 1942 mailing) of the four parts of THE MADMAN OF MARS is missing and part four is duplicated.
