We Buy Books as Well as Sell Them

We are always interested in purchasing (or accepting on consignment) fine single items or entire collections within our area of specialization.

In addition to the usual suspects (Verne, Wells, Lovecraft, Asimov, Clarke, Heinlein, Tolkien, King, Dick, Baxter, et al), award-winning fiction and other "high spots," and the specialty press titles from the 1930s to the 1960s, we seek science fiction and fantasy written for children and young adults from the 1930s through the early 1960s (a run of the Winston SF series would be nice), standard bibliographies and reference works pertaining to all areas of popular literature, and science fiction, fantasy, horror, mystery and adventure fiction published prior to 1940 (especially weird and supernatural fiction published from the 1890s through the 1930s and Victorian and Edwardian science fiction).

In addition to outright sale, viable options available to those thinning or disposing of a book collection include consignment (to an auction house or a bookseller) or offering the books for sale on the internet. Consigning books to a long-established, well-known specialist bookseller has many advantages.

A major advantage is exposure of consigned material to a wide base of potential customers, many of whom do not buy at auction or on the internet. We would be pleased to hear from those of you who wish to explore available options for the sale of your books for optimum convenience and maximum profit.

Dear Lloyd,

I have decided to accept your offer to purchase the remainder of my collection on consignment with you.

Again, I thank you very much for working with me over the past few years. Should anyone require a reference as to the safety and efficiency (this is how they word it for medical drug research) of working with you, please have them call me.
