Modern geologic knowledge of the southern Sierra Nevada began with the publication of Lawson's paper, "The Geomorphogeny of the Upper Kern Basin," in 1904. In the summer of 1905 Lawson visited the middle Kern Canyon to gather the data presented in this study of the geomorphic features south of the junction of the Little Kern and Kern rivers. Some tanning to edges, 2.5x8.5 strip cut from the upper right corner of the front cover, a good copy. (#166251).
