TYPED LETTER SIGNED (TLS). 1 page, dated 13 March 1985, to "Kirby" [McCauley], signed "Bob." On plain letter-sized paper with Silverberg's typed Agberg, Ltd return address at top. A businesslike letter dealing with expected royalty payments and contracts. The books discussed are TOM O' BEDLAM, THE STAR GYPSIES, and GILGAMESH. Silverberg has been a prolific editor and author of science-fiction, beginning with his output of formulaic stories for the pulps in the 1950s, then a flowering of more personal and intense work in the 1960s and 1970s, then returning to more relaxed and commercial work in the 1980s and afterwards. Kirby McCauley was probably the most important literary agent of horror, fantasy and sf writers in the boom years of the 1970s and 1980s. Wrinkled and creased, several faint coffee stains, good. (#102688).
