Browne, rebound in three-quarter nineteenth century black pebbled morocco and blue marbled cloth, spine panel lettered and richly tooled in gold, front and rear panels ruled in gold, all edges marbled, marbled endpapers. First edition in book form. An early copy with errors noted by Smith (signature mark "BB2" misprinted "B2;" "Rigaud" for "Blandois" not corrected, page 467 passim, etc.). Tymn (ed), Horror Literature 2-32. Smith 12. Half title not called for, errata slip at page 467 found in some copies not present here. Morocco rubbed at spine ends and corners, the usual darkening to margins of plates, but text block remarkably clean. A nice tight copy in an attractive period binding. (#102784).
