One of the grimmest, most terrifying accounts of the moral degeneration of a soul ever penned, it documents the gradual descent into madness of a fine, sensitive young man, who becomes so deranged that he imagines he has been physically transformed into a wolf and runs naked on all fours about his room howling 'wolf, wolf!'" - Frost, The Essential Guide to Werewolf Literature, p. 97.
