LOVE STORIES OF INDIA. New York: Farrar, Straus and Company, . Octavo, cloth. First edition. Fifteen stories of romance and adventure, with settings mostly in India but also Mandalay and Iraq. The author contributes reminiscences before each story about its origin and publishing history (although their main revelation is the self-satisfied confidence of a commercially successful writer). Two have supernatural content: "Poojah" (about a love spell that goes wrong) and "The Cat That Would Not Die." Not in Reginald (1979). A bright, nearly fine copy in very good with light wear at edges and dust soiling to rear panel. (#113396).
First printing has "fs" monogram on the copyright page.
