First edition. Half a dozen tales from ancient Egypt, with commentaries by Petrie, who was an eminent Egyptologist. Some involve folkloristic magic. A second series was published the same year. The line drawings are quite atmospheric. Early owner's calling card affixed to front paste-down, faint ghosting on front free endpaper which is a bit tanned as is the rear free endpaper. Spine ends and corner tips rubbed, else a very good, bright copy. (#116741).
