First edition. The author's first collection of short fiction. Hungarian-born Tabori began publishing in the 1930s with journalism, translations and fiction. He went on to write a significant amount of science fiction and fantasy, with ten titles listed in Reginald. The eleven stories in the present collection focus on odd personalities. "My Madmen" is as the title suggests. "Time and Chance" is about a hypnotist. Nice illustrations. Endpapers foxed, else a very good copy in fair (worn and chipped) dust jacket. (#117282).
