Basis for the 1939 Warner Brothers film directed by William Keighley starring James Cagney as Frank Ross, a reporter who is doing a story on political corruption but is framed and sent to prison before he can get his story out. Also stars George Raft as the gangster in prison from whom Cagney seeks help. Some fading to spine and edges, else a very good to near fine copy in very good dust jacket with shelf wear to edges and corners, chip from upper spine end affecting the author's name, wear and shallow at lower spine end. This book is very uncommon in jacket. (#126290).
