In 1845, visiting Philadelphia at the age of twenty eight, she met one of her childhood heroes, the Rev. Adoniram Judson, became his third wife, and went with him to Burma to do Baptist missionary work. Seriously ill after his death in 1850, Judson returned to America in 1851 and died in 1854 in Hamilton, New York. Signature of early owner L. C. Webber on front free endpaper and on front flyleaf.
