(#133298) THE U-BOAT HUNTERS. James Brendan Connolly.

THE U-BOAT HUNTERS. New York: Charles Scribner's Sons, 1918. Octavo, four inserted plates, original dark gray boards printed in orange with light gray cloth shelf back, stamped in orange, fore-edge untrimmed. First edition. Most of the reportage is based on articles written by Connolly as the European naval correspondent for COLLIER'S while on convoy duty in 1917 aboard the American destroyer "Nicolson." The opening and closing chapters comprise a paean to the modern United States Navy in which Connolly encourages young men to enlist and serve, especially in the submarine fleet. Smith, American Fiction, 1901-1925 C-678. Lower corner tips worn, a tight, clean, very good copy. A nice copy of a somewhat uncommon book. (#133298).

Price: $75.00
