DARK CARNIVAL. Ray Bradbury.

DARK CARNIVAL. London: Hamish Hamilton, [1948]. Octavo, cloth. First British edition. Brief signed inscription dated 4 July 2000 by Bradbury to "Frank" on the front free endpaper. The author's first book. This edition collects twenty of the twenty-seven stories collected in the earlier Arkham House edition. Barron (ed), Horror Literature 3-34. Bleiler, The Guide to Supernatural Fiction 254. Tymn (ed), Horror Literature 4-42. A fine copy in bright, nearly fine dust jacket (designed by Michael Ayrton) with just a bit of very faint dust soiling to rear panel and printed price clipped and "5s. NET" rubber-stamped on the front flap. Overall, a superior copy of a scarce edition of this book which seldom turns up in nice shape. (#140687).
