FOOD FOR A FUTURE: THE COMPLETE CASE FOR VEGETARIANISM. New York: Universe Books, [1979]. Octavo, boards. First U.S. edition. Wynne-Tyson is known among fantasy cognoscenti as the third King of Redonda, the little rock in the Caribbean whose first self-proclaimed monarch was M. P. Shiel (H. M. Felipe I), a major figure in late 19th and early 20th century supernatural and science fiction. Shiel passed the crown on to author and editor Terence Ian Fytton Armstrong, better known as John Gawsworth (H. M. Juan I), who in turn passed it on to Wynne-Tyson (H. M. Juan II). Wynne-Tyson, whose mother Esmé was also a writer, was a writer himself but better known perhaps as founder of the Centaur Press in 1954. Inscribed by the author to John Squires, a noted Shiel collector and scholar. A near fine copy in very good dust jacket with a bit of foxing to inner side of spine panel and a couple of minor abrasions to black background ink. (#142656).
