THE ROOM OPPOSITE AND OTHER TALES OF MYSTERY AND IMAGINATION. Mayor.

THE ROOM OPPOSITE AND OTHER TALES OF MYSTERY AND IMAGINATION. London, New York, Toronto: Longmans, Green and Co., [1935]. Octavo, pp. [i-iv] v [vi] 1-321 [322], original salmon cloth, front and spine panels stamped in black. First edition. Mixed collection including several excellent traditional ghost stories after the manner of M. R. James, who opined that those pieces "which introduce the supernatural commend themselves to me very strongly." James did not hand out such compliments freely. Light stain to cloth at bottom edge of front cover, a similar stain at bottom edge of rear cover, a very good, otherwise clean and attractive copy in good printed dust jacket with some tanning and mild foxing to the front and rear panels, heavier tanning to spine panel which is also worn with shallow loss at spine ends and has a tape mend at center, spine folds rubbed with some separation along spine folds, more so along rear fold. A scarce book seldom found in nice condition and rarely encountered in the jacket. (#148890).

Price: $1,500.00
