First edition. Possibly a presentation copy with initialed (indecipherable) gift inscription on recto of half title leaf. Penciled attribution to "J. Harrison" on title page. Sentimental Victorian ghost novel; Spanish Inquisition, witchcraft, possession, ghosts. "Large portions of text in verse: a curious novel indeed. About Bristol Jews, a romantic historical melodrama." - Wolff 7498. Not in Bleiler (1948; 1978) or Reginald (1979; 1992).
