Christmas stories by Washington Gladden (1836-1919), a Congregational clergyman born in Pennsylvania. Includes an interplanetary tale, "A Christmas Dinner with the Man in the Moon," with fine fantastic illustrations by Victor Nehlig (a French artist, born in Paris in 1830, who came to United States in 1856 and settled in New York City) in the style of Robida and Riou. Mild rubbing to spine ends and corner tips, touch of wear along the fore-edge of rear cover and several faint scratches to same, else a near fine, bright copy. Nice copies of this book are uncommon.
