FULL FATHOM FIVE. London: Herbert Jenkins Limited, n.d. [1930]. Octavo, pp. [1-8] 9-320, original orange cloth, front and spine panels stamped in black, publisher's monogram stamped in black on rear panel. First edition. Locke, A Spectrum of Fantasy, p. 86. Presentation copy with inscription by Foster and his wife on front free endpaper: "To Marjorie / With Best Wishes / From Phyllis and George / April 5, 1930." "The bulk of the story takes place in England in the present (1929) and centers around four main characters. Parts of the novel, however, are set in Lemuria 5000,000 years ago and in a land linking England with Europe 200,000 years ago. The past and the present are linked by a pseudo-reincarnation theme -- strange dreams and visions. The tale also has an example of time-travel in which a prehistoric man travels to the present. Not lost race, but might be considered associational." - Teitler, By the World Forgot (2013) 432. Angenot and Khouri, "An International Bibliography of Prehistoric Fiction," SFS, VIII (March 1981), 43. Bleiler (1978), p. 76. Reginald 05545. A fine copy. Scarce. (#150796).
