THE MAN WITH THE WART: AN OBEAH STORY. [London: Press Printers Limited], n.d. [1928?]. Octavo, pp. [1-2] [1-5] 6-38, two illustrations, original green cloth, front panel stamped in gold. First edition. Presentation copy with signed inscription by Howard Christie, the author's son, dated Nassau 22 April 1934 on front free endpaper. H. Christopher's "foreword" is dated Nassau, August 1928. Most likely privately printed by the author. A tale of black magic set in the West Indies, with dialect spelling. The illustrations are done in a crude woodcut style, one showing a man with a foot-long wart growing from his forehead, the other showing a conjure man by the light of a full moon, surrounded by nasty little beasts. Not in Bleiler (1948; 1978), Day (1963), or Reginald (1979; 1992). A nearly fine copy in (original?) unprinted tissue dust jacket. Very scarce. (#150887).
No statement of printing.
