Science fiction thriller set in Australia concerning the discovery of a substance that will set fire to water. According to Miller, p. 737, this novel was serialized in the MELBOURNE HERALD under the title of "The Green Flame." Cronin, an Australian writer, is best known to SF readers as the author of THE ANT MEN published in 1955 under his Eric North pseudonym.
