Widgery, decorated tan cloth, front and spine panels stamped in black and gold, rear panel stamped in black, t.e.g., white endpapers with floral pattern printed in yellow-green. First edition. Devonshire legends and romances, including a couple of old-fashioned ghost stories, sentimental in tone. "Dimpse" is a local dialect term for twilight. Not listed in the standard fantasy checklists. Not in Eaton catalogue. Cloth worn at spine ends and corner tips, hairline cracks along inner hinges, a good copy. A very scarce book. The British Library and other sources date this book 1893, but this copy has a gift inscription dated 1890. (#151807).
