Berton Roueché (1910-1994) was a medical writer who wrote for THE NEW YORKER for almost fifty years. The six articles collected here include "Ten Feet Tall," the basis for the 1956 film Bigger Than Life. Many of the real-life medical mysteries on the television show House (premiered 2004 on the Fox network) were inspired by Roueché's writings, especially THE MEDICAL DETECTIVES (1980). Roueché also published several suspense and mystery novels, including BLACK WEATHER (1945). Cover rubbed at edges, a very good or better copy. (#159865).
