FLYING HIGH. New York, Washington, Atlanta, Hollywood: Vantage Press, [1965]. Octavo, illustrated, boards. First edition. A short tale of the future, written in 1948-1949 by an Alabama-born U.S. Navy veteran and automobile salesman (at the time of publication), of the voyage of the spaceship "Lunar Scooter," which travels to the Moon, then proceeds on to distant planet whose civilization is "500 years ahead of ours" (and appears to be a religious utopia). The illustrations are quite amusing. Reginald 01921. A fine copy in fine dust jacket. (#161931).
