First edition. An allegorical fantasy set in the Sierra Nevada in Sequoia National Park. Bowen (1877- ?) was a Los Angles lawyer who wrote several children's books, all originally written as Christmas stories for his children. Bookplate of Leona Keeler affixed to front paste-down. A fine copy in very good pictorial dust jacket (priced $2.00 on the front flap) with wear at spine ends and corner tips, tape mends to same, and mild tanning to spine panel. (#162203).
