Siret (1745-an VI), polyglot scholar and secret agent for Louis XVI and later the Revolution, had a thorough knowledge of English and Italian. In France he published grammars composed according to the plan of Lhomond. The first, ÉLÉMENS DE LA LANGUE ANGLOISE, had over forty editions. Binding worn and scuffed, mild foxing to some text leaves; a sound, internally clean copy. OCLC reports two copies of this printing: Bibliothèque Mazarine and Bibliothèque nationale de France.
