Small octavo, pp. [1-4] 5-180 [181-188: ads], inserted frontispiece and engraved title on conjugate leaf plus 10 full-page illustrations on inserted plates, original decorated green cloth stamped in black and gold, yellow endpapers. First printing of the Miller edition. The first edition was published in London by Chapman and Hall in 1847. Miller's edition has different stories and it may not have the same stories in J. Wiley's 1848 edition. This is the first printing of Miller's edition. Several stains and scuffs to cloth, inner hinges cracked, front free endpaper missing, somewhat shaken, scattered spotting and soiling to text pages, tide marks to margins of some leaves and plates, a fair to about good copy. This printing not in AAS. Scarce. (#162772).
