A short letter largely about her poem, "Chasaph," inspired by letter II of Sir Walter Scott's LETTERS ON DEMONOLOGY AND WITCHCRAFT, ADDRESSED TO J. G. LOCKHART, ESQ. ... (1830). Accompanied by a one-page typescript of "Chasaph" and one-page typescript of "The Sultan's Voyeur (After Faulkner)," with handwritten note. Mary Elizabeth Counselman (1911-1995) was an American writer and poet whose fiction was published in WEIRD TALES and other magazines beginning in 1931. She was one of the most popular writers published in WEIRD TALES. Richard Fawcett is a small press publisher (including small press magazines FANTASY MACABRE and FANTASY AND TERROR (with Jessica Salmonson) and the founder of The August Derleth Society.
