A sequel to STEP TO THE STARS (1954) in which the young protagonist Jim Stanley who helped build the first space station plays major role in the effort to reach the Moon ahead of an enemy Combine that plans to use the satellite to menace the nations of Earth. Part of the classic Winston science fiction series for young readers published between 1952 and 1961. Mild bump to upper rear for-edge corner, else a fine copy in very good first printing dust jacket (28 titles listed on rear panel) with wear along top and bottom edges, shallow loss at upper spine end and upper corner tips, 18 mm closed tear at upper edge of front panel with associated crease, and some rubbing along spine and front flap folds.
