A presentation copy with signed inscription by Derleth on the front free endpaper: "To Tess Mueller / on of the lighter moments / in the Sac Prairie Saga. / August Derleth." Wilson 553. Book label of Otto Harmon Mueller, Sauk City, Wis., affixed to the front paste-down. Endpapers tanned along gutter margins, else a fine copy in a very good pictorial dust jacket (illustrated by George Carlson) priced $2.50 on the front flap with wear and short closed tears along top and bottom edges, mostly spine ends and corners, tiny chip from upper spine end, and tiny nick in lower center of spine panel.
