Large octavo, five issues, illustrations, bound with the original pictorial wrappers in maroon cloth. All published. Short-lived occult bedsheet pulp ghost-edited by August Derleth. Includes "Ghosts Who Return to Re-enact Their Crimes" and "Your Picture Can Be Your Death Warrant" by Derleth writing as "Tally Mason," as well as contributions by Elliott O'Donnell, William Le Queux and T. Everett Harre. Derleth's first job after college. After receiving his B.A. from the University of Wisconsin, Derleth left Madison for Minneapolis to edit MYSTIC MAGAZINE for Fawcett Publications. When the magazine shifted its emphasis to lurid crime, Derleth resigned and returned to Sauk City, his birthplace and home to four generations of the Derleth family. Wilson 658 and 729. A fine set.
