Starr, Jr. was killed in a climbing accident while performing field work for his posthumously published Guide to the John Muir Trail and the High Sierra Region (1934). The frontispiece, reproduced from the last exposed film found in Starr's Kodak, is a photograph of the Minarets, where he died and was entombed. Covers tanned, sewing thread missing, a good copy.
