Barnard's Hotel and Cottages, Yosemite Valley, Cal. Yosemite Valley, California, ____ 18 __. N.p., n.d. [circa: 1890s]. Single sheet, 27.7 x 21 cm, blue paper stock, ruled on both sides. 1 illustration drawn by Charles Dorman Robinson. The elaborate illustration (engraved by Moss Eng. Co., New York) is a composite of seven drawings by Charles Dorman Robinson. From 1877 to 1892 John K. Barnard leased the Yosemite Falls Hotel, built in 1876 by Coulter and Murphy and the old Hutchings group. Following renovations the hotel survived until 1940. A letter dated 17 June 1891, written on both sides of the letter sheet, by A. P. Woodward, a physician, to Miss Davis, a patient, provides advice and a prescription for treatment for a pain in her side and a sore arm. The letter has some wear along the mailing folds and there is a bit of tanning at edges. (#164840).
