Souvenir album of the great west [cover title]. N.p., n.d. 15 x 23.8 cm, 25 plates, original decorated green cloth stamped in black and gold, decorated endpapers, string tied. First edition? An album of western views, most four on each plate, many along the routes of the Denver and Rio Grande, the Union Pacific and Southern Pacific railroads. Not dated, but circa 1890s. Includes eight pictures of Yosemite Valley and two pictures of the California big tree groves. Probably published by Ward Brothers, Columbus, Ohio. This copy was owned by Fred Barbour whose signature dated 1901 is on the verso of the first plate and his annotation "Fred Barbour was borned [sic] here" at the bottom edge of the first plate that includes two pictures of Denver, Colorado. A very good copy. (#164888).
