[Yosemite Valley] Mother Curry's bungalow, Camp Curry, Yosemite Valley. Gelatin silver print. 17 x 12.2 cm (6 3/4 x 4 7/8 inches). Inscribed on the reverse: "With greetings / from / Mrs. D. A. Curry." In 1899 David A. Curry and Jenny Etta Foster Curry (later known as Mother Curry) opened a tent camp in Yosemite Valley. They advertised "a good bed and clean napkin with every meal" for $2 a day. By the mid 1920s it was the major concessionaire in Yosemite National Park. A bit of tarnish at top right corner, very good. (#164944).
