Fresno gateway to Yosemite, Bass Lake, Sequoia, Kings Canyon [folder title]. Berkeley, California: A Mike Roberts Color Production ... Distributed by Bob Ball, Visalia, California, n.d. [circa early 1950s]. Single sheet, 14 x 66.5 cm, with seven postcard-sized panels folded accordion-style into a paper mailer. 14 illustrations, plus 2 on the mailer. Caption title for the brief text on the inside of the paper mailer: "Fresno gateway to Yosemite, Bass Lake, Sequoia, Kings Canyon." Color photographs of the city of Fresno and Yosemite, Sequoia and Kings Canyon National Parks. Mike Roberts was a self-taught photographer and a pioneer in the development of color photography and printing whose earliest photographs on postcards were probably published in 1945. The "Mike Roberts Color Production" imprint, "used from 1949 on appears to mark the point at which Roberts began to move from commercial photography into commercial postcard production" (Jim Caddick, "Mike Roberts -- Photographer Turned Publisher," San Francisco Bay Area Post Card Club Newsletter, 25:3 [March 2010], p. 6).
