Rules and regulations Sequoia and General Grant National Parks ... Season from May 15 to October 1 and at any time for motorists carrying own camp equipment [cover title]. [Washington, D. C. U. S. Government Printing Office, 1927.]. 23 x 14.9 cm, pp. i-ii 1-36 [37-38: blank], 4 illustrations (on covers), 5 maps (2 folding), original pictorial cream wrappers printed in black, stapled. At head of title: "United States Department of the Interior Hubert Work, Secretary National Park Service Stephen Mather, Director." Provides general information about Sequoia and General Grant National Parks, rules and regulations for the parks, approved 6 April 1927, and "Authorized rates for public utilities season of 1927," which provides detailed information on goods and services provided by "camps, stores, and transportation within the parks." The maps are: "Map showing National Parks in California with principal connecting highways," "Railroads tributary to national parks in California," "Map of Giant Forest and surroundings Sequoia National Park California" (folded), "Map showing location of principal trees in General Grant National Park," and "Map of Sequoia and General Grant National Parks" (folded). The large folded map of the parks "engraved and printed by the U. S. Geological Survey," shows roads, trails, visitor services, and topographic points of interest, with "good" and "poor" auto roads and trails printed in red. A very good copy. These booklets are chock full of interesting statistics and are underrated as resource material, and they are now uncommon. (#165108).
