Singer souvenir of Yosemite Valley [envelope title]. N.p. Singer Manufacturing Company, n.d. [circa 1902]. ten plates, 18x11.3 cm, enclosed in pictorial paper envelope. A promotional souvenir produced by Singer to advertise their classic Singer 66, the first mass produced sewing machine, here advertised as "new model just out." The Singer model 66 was produced from October 1902 [other sources state 1900] until it was superseded by the amazing Singer 201 around 1956. Each plate has a photograph of Yosemite Valley on the recto and a description of the view and a promotion of the machine and Singer stores on the verso. The envelope is postmarked Fresno, 8 May 1905. The envelope is frayed at edges; the plates are fine. (#165984).
