YELLOW STONE PARK [sic, Yellowstone Park]: UNCLE SAM'S WONDER-LAND [wonderland] [caption title]. Elkhart, Ind. Miles Medical Co., n.d. [1920s or 1930s]. 11.8x15.5 cm (small oblong octavo), pp. [1] 2-35 [36], illustrations, original pictorial self wrappers, stapled. Cover title reads: "National Parks." Produced in the 1920s or 1930s, before 1936. The name Dr. Miles Medical Company was changed to Miles Laboratories in 1935. A patent medicine booklet with advertising and testimonials for Dr. Miles' "restorative remedies" for the nerves and the heart. About half the booklet is an illustrated description of Yellowstone National Park. "Miles Laboratories was founded as the Dr. Miles Medical Company in Elkhart, Indiana, in 1884 by Dr. Franklin Lawrence Miles, a specialist in the treatment of eye and ear disorders, with an interest in the connection of the nervous system to overall health. Miles operated as an independent firm from 1884 until 1979 and as a wholly owned subsidiary of Bayer AG from 1979 until 1995, when it was consolidated into the parent corporation" (Wikipedia).
