Save the Yosemite sugar pines! Write to your senators and congressmen now, asking them to secure the passage of Bill S. 4472 to restore this wonderful region to the Yosemite Park [cover title]. [New York: The Emergency Conservation Committee, October 1932.]. 23 cm, pp. [1] 2-16, 10 illustrations (including cover illustrations), 1 map, pictorial self wrappers, stapled. First edition. Bill S. 4472 provided for the acquisition, by exchange of other federal timber lands, of a tract between the Tuolumne Grove and Carl Inn along the Big Oak Flat Road. Although additional lands were added to Yosemite National Park in 1932 (in the Wawona area), the legislation needed to acquire the land discussed in this pamphlet was not passed until 1937. H. R. 5394, a bill to provide for the acquisition of certain lands for, and the addition thereof to, the Yosemite National Park, was approved by Congress on July 9, 1937 and when signed into law added approximately 7,500 acres to the park. See United States, 75th Congress, 1st Session, House (Committee on the Public Lands), Acquisition of Certain Lands ... (1937). A fine copy. (#166033).
