(#166111) Son of the wilderness the life of John Muir by Linnie Marsh Wolfe. John Muir, LINNIE MARSH WOLFE.

Son of the wilderness the life of John Muir by Linnie Marsh Wolfe. New York: Alfred A. Knopf, 1945. 21.3x14.2 cm (octavo), pp. [i-vi] vii-xvii [xviii] [1-2] 3-364 i-xvi [xvii: blank] [xviii: "printer's note], 28 plates, 1 folded facsimile, original blue cloth, front and spine panels stamped in gold, top edge stained green, other edges rough trimmed. First edition, first printing. This life is based in part upon Muir's unpublished papers and journals, as well as interviews with family members and friends. The result is a work that remains, despite its largely uncritical tone, the best biography of Muir. A touch of sunning to cloth at edges, else a fine copy in nearly fine dust jacket priced $3.50 on the front flap with two tiny internal tape mends. A lovely copy. (#166111).
