A general index to Yosemite Nature Notes 1922-1936 compiled under the direction of Hazel Hunt Voth. Berkeley, California: U.S. Department of the Interior, National Park Service, 1937. 28x21.7 cm, [1-3], [1] 2-61 [62] leaves, mimeographed from typewritten copy, original tan wrappers, brown cloth tape shelf back, side stitched. First edition. On July 10, 1922 Yosemite Nature Notes (later Yosemite) commenced publication as a weekly newsletter edited by Ansel F. Hall. Beginning in January 1926, it was issued monthly through the final number (volume 40, number 6) published in February 1961. For nearly forty years Yosemite Nature Notes served park visitors and the National Park Service interpretive program and its more than 400 regular issues and twenty-three special issues comprise a major source of information on the human and natural history of the Yosemite region. The journal apparently resumed publication after 1961; details currently lacking. Some damp wrinkling to upper edges of leaves, a good copy. (#166152).
