Yosemite National Park, a bibliography. Compiled under the supervision of Hazel Hunt Voth and Harold Gill, at the Western Museum Laboratories of the National Park Service, with assistance provided by the Work Projects Administration and Civilian Conservation Corps. In: A bibliography of national parks and monuments west of the Mississippi River vol. I compiled at the Western Museum Laboratories of the National Park Service with assistance provided by the Work Projects Administration and the Civilian Conservation Corps. N.p. [Berkeley, California]: United States Department of the Interior National Park Service, 1941. 26x18.5 cm, variously paginated, mechanical reproduction from typewritten copy, original medium brown cloth, front and spine panels stamped in dark brown. First combined edition, expanded and partially revised. This combined edition includes the 134-page Yosemite National Park, a bibliography -- compiled under the supervision of Hazel Hunt Voth and Harold Gill, published separately in 1939 -- an annotated checklist of books, pamphlets, and periodical articles relating to Yosemite National Park which is still of value for its extensive survey of the periodical literature on the region. The bibliography is arranged alphabetically by author in six sections: general: administration and policy (including roads, trails, and buildings), geography, travel, and description, educational and museum programs; fauna: general (ecological condition, et cetera), amphibians and reptiles, birds, fish and fishing, insects and other invertebrates, mammals; flora: ecological conditions, flowers and plants, trees and shrubs; geology; history; and Indians. The foreword acknowledges the assistance of "Mr. Francis P. Farquhar of Berkeley who graciously made available his large private library of books on the Sierra Nevada and allied topics, and for several hundred titles included herein, we are indebted to him." Additionally, section 14 of the "Pacific States" is a 39-page bibliography of Sequoia National Park. Cloth dusty, upper corner tips worn, internally sound and fine. (#166153).
