Histories of eight nineteenth-century Pacific Coast narrow gauge railroads important in the development of west coast commerce and industry, all situated in California unless otherwise noted: Nevada County Narrow Gauge Railroad, Lake Tahoe Railway & Navigation Co., North Pacific Coast Railroad, Sumpter Valley Railroad (Oregon), South Pacific Coast Railway, Ilwaco Railway & Navigation Co. (Washington), Pacific Coast Railway, and Pajaro Valley Consolidated Railroad. Several, North Pacific Coast Railroad and South Pacific Coast Railroad, operated in coastal California Redwood regions and two, Nevada County Narrow Gauge Railroad and Lake Tahoe Railway & Navigation Co., operated in the Sierra, both in Nevada County. The South Pacific Coast Railway line through Felton to Santa Cruz became a branch of the Southern Pacific. A fine copy in very good or better dust jacket with light wear at edges. (#166245).
