A paper and geologic map resulting from the first detailed geological work in a 450 square mile area of the southern Sierra Nevada, most of which lies "within the drainage basin of the Kaweah River, but also extends both north and south into the valleys of smaller streams. It is limited on the west by the alluvium of the San Joaquin Valley; eastward it reaches to the western boundary of Sequoia National Park" (p. 2). The folded colored map is "Geologic Map of a Portion of the Southern Sierra Nevada Northeast of Visalia, Calif. Geology by Cordell Durrell 1936." Inked signature of former owner at upper right corner of front cover. Overlapping edges of wrappers worn, several closed tears in spine panel repaired, long horizontal tear in map, no loss of text, a very good copy. (#166430).
