At head of title: "United States Geological Survey / Clarence King[,] Director." The three maps are: "Map of the Placerville Route" (folded), "Map of Carson Valley" (with tissue guard), and "Map of the Washoe District, Showing Mining Claims" (folded). Cloth scuffed, spine ends and corners worn, hairline crack along inner rear hinge, verso of "Map of Carson Valley" dusty (but can be cleaned), still a sound copy with generally clean text and maps in excellent condition (save for the dust soiling on the verso of one of them).
