A rare 28-panel promotional real estate brochure issued by Burgess and Marsh with a stunning, large color birdseye view/map of Mount Diablo and the surrounding region drawn by Worthington Gates, copyright 1916. It is a detailed map of the East Bay and adjacent region showing cities, towns, resorts and roads leading to the mountain, including the Mount Diablo Scenic Boulevard, a toll road to the summit where an observatory and hotel were to be built. The recto of the brochure is photographs and text promoting the tourist attractions in the region and the sale of land in a planned community, the Mount Diablo Estate, "10,000 acres of beautiful valley, farm and hill land nestled against the slopes of Mt.
