Imprint in bottom right margin: "Printed by the U. S. Geological Survey. "This copy is annotated with a route and notes of a trip from Camp Nelson [Nelson's Camp] in Tulare County, California, up the Kern Canyon to Junction Meadow, to Guitar Lake, side trip to the summit of Mount Whitney, return by way of Big Whitney Meadows and Golden Trout Creek.
