In addition to general information, the text provides a list of the "more important improved camps" in the California National Forests, a list of "Primitive and Recreation Areas," including the 697,500-acre High Sierra Primitive Area, "along the the crest of the Sierra Nevada from Mount Whitney 75 miles north to the Mammoth Lakes region" the 87,140-acre Dana-Minarets Primitive Area, "between Tioga Pass and Devil Post Pile National Monument," and Desolation Valley and Echo Lake and Emigrant Basin, two areas in the Sierra Nevada north of Yosemite National Park, and lists of National Parks and Monuments and State Parks in California. Map printed in red, green and black on verso titled "... National Forests of California 1929;" at head of title "U. S. Department of Agriculture / Forest Service / R. Y. Stuart, Forester." The map locates the eighteen National Forests located or partially located in the state of California. Short splits at several intersections, some wear at edges, outer panels dusty, good. (#166726).
