First edition. A sportsman's recollections of hunting in the southern Sierra Nevada. His base camp, Pine Flat, Tulare County, California, elevation 3871 feet, is a small mountain community in the Sequoia National Forest southeast of Porterville, the location of El Capinero, the Myers Land Company's popular Sierra Nevada resort which opened 29 May 1926. In addition to nonfiction accounts of hunting, there are several stories set in the Canadian North Woods. There is a 3-page "introduction" by William T.
