Lake Tahoe, Cal. [cover title]. Los Angeles: Putnam & Valentine, Photo, n.d. [circa 1915]. 19x33.5 cm (oblong octavo), six folded leaves, twelve illustrations, plus one smaller illustration affixed to the front cover, plain brown wrappers with photographic print measuring 7.5x13.5 cm affixed to front panel. Twelve sepia-tone gelatin silver prints mounted loose in corner slots on double leaves made from brown construction paper. Captions and/or imprints rubber-stamped on the versos of all but one of the prints. The panoramic photographs measure 9.8x24.5 cm (3 7/8 x 9 5/8 inches). At one time, the leaves were stapled into the paper covers, but now are loose. This is probably not a commercial publication, but a souvenir album made to order, perhaps produced by a Tahoe entrepreneur, perhaps unique. Subjects include lake steamer rounding Rubicon Point, Cascade Lake, Tahoe Tavern, Mt. Tallac, automobile "On Emerald Bay State Road" and Emerald Bay with lake steamer. The back panel of the paper wrapper is soiled, there is some wear along the spine panel, the prints are fine. (#166775).
